KES Careers Week 8th — 11th February 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Exciting news — next week is our King Ethelbert School Careers Week 2021!! We will be starting with our launch of the KES Virtual Careers Fair, followed by focus days which will include learning about university, subject-specific careers and apprenticeships.
Plan for the week:
Monday 8th February
Launch of our KES Virtual Careers Fair to ALL year groups.
This has been developed by EBP (East Kent Business Partnership) who we work closely with.
Over 40 businesses and higher education institutions have contributed to this platform.
Students will be sent the login details, please support your child with accessing and browsing the platform. This platform will be available to use for 5 days until 12th February (24 hours a day).
Tuesday 9th February
University Focus Day
Staff will be discussing their own university experiences with students and answering any questions that they might have about further education.
Wednesday 10th February
Subject-specific Careers Focus Day
In each of their lessons, students will be exploring where that subject might take them. Teachers will be exploring career paths related to their own subject areas with the students.
Thursday 11th February
Apprenticeship Focus Day
Students will learn about the range of apprenticeships on offer.
I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to parents who would be interested in getting involved in further career events or if you have any contacts that we as a school and our students could access in the future. We are always looking for work experience placements, job or training opportunities, as well as local businesses that would speak to our students about their work-related experiences, or who would like to take part in future events. Please do contact me at the email address below.
Sending best wishes to you and your families, we hope you enjoy the week!
